This weeks show opened up with Jaxson Ryker of the Forgotten Sons taking on 205’s Humberto Carrillo. Humberto did his best to take it to the larger Ryker utilising his quickness and flips.
A spring board elbow and splash putting Ryker on his back, but for barely a one count! this just seemed to anger Ryker who after kicking out proceeded to dominate Carrillo, until hitting him with his finisher the Widow Maker. The Mexican would role to the outside to avoid defeat but this would prove to be a big mistake as Ryker would follow him to the outside and continue to dominate his smaller opponent throwing Carrillo around and kneeing his face into the barricade as his two team mates egged him on, only relenting when Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan made the save. It looks as if this will set up a three on three tag match between these six men.
Next up was women’s tag team action as Vanessa Borne & Aliyah would face Candice LeRae and her mystery partner Kacy Catanzaro. Kacy would start the match against Aliyah who would take an early advantage, yet Catanzaro would use her speed and amazing athleticism to mount a fight back. That is until Borne caused a distraction from the apron allowing Aliyah to take back control. Borne and Aliyah would continue to work on Kacy keeping her from LeRae’s reach, but Catanzaro would turn a double suplex attempt into a double neck breaker, giving her the chance she needed to tag in Candice. LeRae quickly took control over the match and in just a few short minutes showed why she is one of the best women’s wrestlers on the entire WWE’s roster a spring board Moonsault would put Vanessa Bourne away and earn LeRae and Catanzaro the victory.
We would then see Io Shairi in a backstage interview which was cut short when Baszler’s horse women burst in and brutally attacked her, Baszler finishing the job with a hard knee. It’s looking more and more likely that these two will be facing off for the NXT Women’s Championship in the near future. We also learned that Kushida would be making his NXT in ring debut next week against perennial Jobber Kassius Ohno.
Street Profits would take on War (Viking) Raiders (Warrior’s) in a non title match in our next encounter. Not wanting to waste anytime Montez Ford would run and Summersault over the ropes landing right on top of both War Raiders. With their opponents taken completely off guard the Street Profits attempted to put them away early with a spine buster from Dawkins followed by a brilliant frog splash by Ford, but they could only manage a two count. Soon after the War Experience would take control of the match and eventually win after hitting Ford with Thor’s Hammer. Viking War Raider Experience are your winners here.
The main event of the show would see Johnny Gargano wrestle Undisputed Era’s Rodrick Strong, this match was every bit as good as you imagine it to be so I won’t go into much detail here instead I urge you to go and watch it.
But Spoiler Alert! It would be Gargano who would have his hand raised in victory after various outside interference and shenanigans from the Undisputed Era and Matt Riddle. The match ended when Adam Cole mistaking Strong for Gargano, would accidentally kick his team mate allowing Gargano to hit his sling shot DDT for the win. The dissension in the ranks continues for the Undisputed Era.
