John Cena vs Seth Rollins (2015)

Getting celebrities involved in matches or feuds is always a dicey game and often it’s a gamble that doesn’t work. The involvement of John Stewart (the host of that year’s Summerslam) in the “winner takes all” match between WWE Champion Seth Rollins and US Champion John Cena was definitely one that didn’t. The match would have been fine enough without a surprise chairshot from the event’s host – it was needless padding to a match between two performers who are easily good enough to pull off a classic one on one clean wrestling match. Furthermore, along with another match on that year’s card (we’ll get to that later…), it was critically panned for having an awful finish. Just let them wrestle, Vince. It’s not that hard, is it?
