We, at Rope Break, are here to rank the top 10 superstars from this week’s RAW and SmackDown Live. The superstars are ranked based on various aspects including victories, promos, and angles. Saying that, let’s dive into this week’s Power 10. Most weeks are tough to make a list on because not an awful lot happens weekly. This time, it’s a different problem. Mainly because we had a little thing called WrestleMania this past week. Without further ado, let’s get into it.
The Power 10
10) Lacey Evans
Despite not doing much at Mania, she set herself up as a contender for Becky Lynch in the two shows that followed. Interrupting Becky Lynch while she was talking to the WWE universe, igniting a brawl on RAW and standing tall over the champ champ on SmackDown. The feud makes sense and will give Lacey the rub of going up against the most over star in the company as her first feud.
9) Sami Zayn
Making his long-awaited return. Sami played the crowd in the beginning, not hinting to a side and has a match against The IC Champion, Finn Balor. The match was fun, with Finn picking up the win. The promo post-match however, is the talking point. Sami walked the line of face and heel before cutting one of the best promos in recent times, ripping into the fans and the critical nature of WWE fandom. Before leaving them with “See you all in hell”. Next night on SmackDown, he comes out and leaves without saying a word. Welcome back, Sami.
8) Finn Balor
Entering Mania as the demon, Finn picked up a decisive win over Bobby Lashley to win the IC championship. Next night on RAW, Finn picked up another solid win v Sami Zayn to get his reign off to a flying start.
7) Hawkins and Ryder
THE STREAK IS OVER. After losing 269 matches in a row, Curt Hawkins finally won a match with Ryder to beat the revival not only once but twice in 2 night to capture and retain the RAW tag team championships. Joy!
With one of the most feel good moments heels can deliver, The IIconics won the womens tag championship at WrestleMania. The emotion on display was heart-warming. On SmackDown, they played their role perfectly as they defeated The Brooklyn Belles. Great stuff.
5) Shane McMahon
In an Awesome (pun intended) car wreck of a match between the Miz and Shane at Mania, both men took hellacious bumps and told a great story and had a great match. Shane picked up the win after his hands were draped over The Miz’s body after a super-plex from high up. Om SmackDown, Shane acted like the smarmy prick he is, forcing the announcer to repeat his name as the best in the world over and over again.
4) Lars Sullivan
Talk about making an impact. On the shows after Mania, Lars made his presence known as the legend killer as he destroyed Kurt Angle on RAW and the new SmackDown tag champions, the Hardy Boys on SD. Interesting developments.
3) Seth Rollins
One of the most shocking moments of Mania, the universal title match opened the show and with a low blow, a super kick and 3 curb stomps, Seth Rollins became the new WWE Universal champion. The next night on RAW, him and Kofi had a champion v champion match which turned into a tag match with the champions picking up the win.
2) Becky Lynch
BECKY DID IT! After the fans organically made her a star, this was her moment to cash that in. In the main event of WrestleMania, Becky picked up the win against Ronda and Charlotte in a triple threat match to become the undisputed womens champion. Even though the finish was abrupt, the match was great and the moment of her victorious more than made up for it.
1) Kofi Kingston
Any doubt? Kofi Kingston, after 11 years of hard work and giving everything to the business and the fans, finally got paid his dues. In the match of the night, Kofi Kingston stood tall over the dastardly Daniel Bryan and became the new WWE champion. The emotion in the ring shown by the new day is one of the most heart-warming moments in WWE History. It was indeed, KOFIMANIA!
That is it for this week’s WWE Power 10. Tune in next week to see who makes the list!
